Risk Assessment of Post-Fault Temporary Overvoltage Using Generalized Short-Circuit Ratio

چکیده

Temporary overvoltage (TOV) is becoming one challenge for the integration of significant power electronics resources into a system. To assess risk TOV in Multi-Infeed Power Electronic System (MIPES), worst-case estimation approach proposed to risk. The paper starts with analyzing mechanism TOV, which reveals that dominated by excessive reactive resulting from comprehensive control laggings. Then, principle approximating Voltage Source Converter (VSC) connecting an infinite bus introduced within context RMS model. After that, method based on concept generalized short-circuit ratio (gSCR-TOV) quantify multi-bus This intends permit screening identify those nodes at greatest need further EMT assessment. localize these nodes, weighted sensitivity matrix pinpoint subject highest MIPES. Finally, case studies time-domain simulations are carried out and verifies effectiveness methods.

assessment of the efficiency of s.p.g.c refineries using network dea

data envelopment analysis (dea) is a powerful tool for measuring relative efficiency of organizational units referred to as decision making units (dmus). in most cases dmus have network structures with internal linking activities. traditional dea models, however, consider dmus as black boxes with no regard to their linking activities and therefore do not provide decision makers with the reasons...

A Comprehensive Mathematical Model for Analysis of WR-Resolvers under Stator Short Circuit Fault

Wound-Rotor (WR) resolvers are the most widely used position sensors in applications with harsh environmental conditions. However, their performance is exposed to failure due to the high risk of short circuit (SC) fault. Although the output current of the resolver is negligible, its thin copper wires increase the probability of the short circuit fault. To avoid the propagation of the turn-to-tu...

Decreasing Distribution Generation Effects on Grid Short Circuit Level Using Superconducting Fault Current Limiter Through Updating Relays Set-Points

Power system protection at transmission and distribution levels based on overcurrent relays is essential based on their properties such as detection, stability, high speed, backup and error correction accuracy. Since distributed generation sources are connected to the power grid, they not only increase the short circuit level of the grid, but also disrupt the set point of main and backup relays...

A Generalized Short Circuit Ratio for Multi-Infeed LCC-HVDC System

The relationship between the short circuit ratio (SCR) and static voltage stability is analyzed in this paper. According to eigenvalue decomposition method, a novel concept named generalized short circuit ratio (gSCR) has been proposed for multi-infeed LCC-HVDC (MIDC) systems to mathematically measure the connected AC strength from the point view of voltage stability, which can overcome the rul...

Temporary short circuit detection in induction motor winding using combination of wavelet transform and neural network

Monitoring system for induction motor is widely developed to detect the incipient fault. Such system is desirable to detect the fault at the running condition to avoid the motor stop running suddenly. In this paper, a new method for detection system is proposed that emphasizes the fault occurrences as temporary short circuit in induction motor winding. The investigation of fault detection is fo...
